F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this?

This website covers my personal collection of hundreds of VHS tapes that I have collected and digitized since 2021. What you will see are catalogs

Why is this a thing?

My main intention behind this is to educate those interested in the broadcast history of their favorite shows / networks as well as to preserve these recordings for future generations to look back on. As time goes on, these tapes will only decay and wither away to nothing. It's important to archive and document these recordings - no matter how insignificant - so they're not lost to time.

Why aren't there full recordings on the site?

It's no mystery that copyright laws and big corporations would have this site shutdown in a heartbeat if I were to host full episodes or movies of these programs. It would be nice to be able to showcase these raw recordings in their full glory but between bandwidth limitations and ViacomCBS breathing down the back of my neck, it won't be happening.

Can you send me the recordings then?

Sorry, but no. Disregarding the legality of sharing copyrighted content, hosting such files to download is a nightmare. Factoring in the subscription cost of cloud-based storage platforms (Google Drive, Dropbox, Mediafire, etc.) as well as the time it would take to upload files that range between 1 GB to 40 GB, the whole precedure isn't worth it for me.

Do you have recordings of [insert program here]?

Maybe! If you're interested in any specific shows or programming that you'd like for me to feature on the site, shoot me an email (fenwicktv@aol.com) or message me on Discord (fen#3935) and ask about it. Keep in mind, there's a good chance I may not have what you're looking for seeing as my collection is only so finite.

Can we trade tapes?

I'm currently not in the market to trade my tapes but will update the site with information regarding it once I decide to.
